Paris Marais District Tours

The Marais district is a historic district of Paris.
It is a veritable catalog of Parisian aristocratic architecture and extends from the 3rd to 4th district ( the Left and Right Bank).
Today, the Marais has become a destination for it’s art galleries and since its renovation, it also has became the world renowned for being the home to the Fashion Week. It also has trendy restaurants, boutiques and chic exhibitions, which has earned it a more valued reputation than even the Champs Elysees.
Since the ‘80s, the neighborhood has become a gay community, particularly through the development of gay shops, nightclubs, cabarets, especially in the southern part of the Marais, near the Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie and Rue des Archives.
This area is also home to a large part of the Jewish community mainly from Eastern Europe (cf.rue Rozier, the Pletzl), but also has a Chinese community in the Northern Quarter, especially towards the Republic Square and the businesses are mainly textile shops and jewelers.
Among the charms of the neighborhood are the Picasso Museum, the house of Nicolas Flamel, the Cognac-Jay Museum, the Carnavalet Museum and the new Café Charlo.

We had a wonderful time in this sunny penthouse apartment. Nadia was helpful and responsive to all my questions, both before our trip and once we were in Paris. The apartment is very nicely equipped and charmingly decorated, with plenty of personal touches that would not be possible in a hotel. The light filled greenhouse-like dining room made the perfect place to enjoy breakfast, and plan our day, while watching the clouds come and go overhead. The kitchen is small but filled with anything you might need to make a meal and it comes equipped with a nifty European clothes washer/dryer - that, once you align the dial properly, both washes and drys your clothes in a single appliance. The bedrooms were comfortable and quiet. While the bath was very nice, all lined in marble, with a separate loo for the toilet and an additional tiny sink, this came in quite handy since there were five adults in our group. The one drawback was the sofa bed, which is not comfortable as a bed or as a sofa - it's too soft seat cushions unfold to make a very soft bed mattress directly on the (hard) floor. There is a sort plank across the front the sofa at the floor level that made it quite uncomfortable to sleep with your head towards the back of the sofa, sleeping with your head at the foot of this "bed" was better, but not great. Otherwise the salon was a really pleasant room, filled with books and magazines, as well as a TV - where we gathered each evening to discuss our options for the next day. We did have one glitch in that the toilet started to leak after a few days, but this problem was handled in the nicest way -...

Paris, we discovered, is full of hidden treasures and this place is no exception. There is a basement with aquariums full of fish from all over the world close by! The apartment is comfortable and clean and everything you could wish for. Nadia (albeit we did not meet her) answered every question promptly and made sure we were comfortable, A nice bottle of wine, fruit juice and beers were in the fridge waiting for us when we arrived. Sitting on the terrace "enjoying" the moment and pondering our days activities was a wonderful way to spend a few hours every day. We cannot speak highly enough of this apartment - it made Paris our home for the week. Thank you Nadia. Brisbane, Queensland, Australia , March 2013

The apartment was very good. The location is convenient: metro is 2 minutes away, many bakeries around, as well as shopping. The quarter is calm. If you are in Paris for a short period, you would't loose you time, going from somewhere to the sightseeings. It is already the heart of Paris. Moreover, if you want to stay in authentic...

If you are in Paris for a short period, you would't loose you time, going from somewhere to the sightseeings. It is already the heart of Paris. Moreover, if you want to stay in authentic french apartment, this is the right place. The apartment has two rooms. For Paris, it is big, especially for the city-center. Inside the apartment were all necessary things that the travellers need: bed-clothes, towels, soap etc. There were even a bottle of vine in the fridge! Nadia was nice and helpful host. She answered very quick to the mails and to all possible questions you have in mind. We definitely recommend this apartment! Karlsruhe, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, September 2013

We were very happy in this delightful little flat. It was comfortable and was provided with everything one could possibly need, without being ostentatious- in other words, it was as 'authentic' a Parisien experience in the best sort of way that it could be. Also the situation was perfect - a nice quiet street, but just round the corner, and within easy walking distance, from all the interesting places in the Marais and down to the Seine.... I would definitely return here next time.   kaitie, AUSTIN, SEPTEMBER 2014

Great location, lots of pubs/bars and restaurants that serve pizza pasta and burgers.  The apartment was clean, but smaller then expected. Great communication, thank you for everything! Markham, Ontario, Canada, June 2013

What a lovely apartment. This spacious terraced apartment accommodated 4 adults comfortably. Loved the large open terrace and the separate dining area – great for croissants and coffee. We would highly recommend this apartment. Great experience living in a Paris suburb. Nelson, Nelson, New Zealand, July 2010
