TRAVEL BY CAR

can-stock-photo_csp5592993Advice if you are travelling by car or have rented a car during your stay :

If you park on the street, there are 3 ways of paying at the ticket machine (‘l’horodateur) :

– by credit card.

– by ‘Paris Carte’ which has replaced the former ‘Carte Monéo’. It is a prepaid smart card that allows you to pay your parking directly at the ticket machine and most of the ‘Tabac’ shops sell them.

-P phone – the new system for phones

  • THE MONTH OF AUGUST :From 01/01/2015, most streets have started charging in AUGUST (previously Paris was known to offer free parking exceptionally in this month). Also street parking is now free from 20H00 to 09H00 (whilst before it was from 19H00 to 09H00), and Parisians are very unhappy with that !!

BATOBUS

We stayed 3 danish girls for 9 days at the apartment, and we were very satisfied with the place, which looks exactly as in the pictures. We were welcomed by the owner, Éliane, who was very friendly and helpful throughout the whole stay. She made a great effort in making us feel at home and she i.a. helped us find a nice flee market. The apartment is clean, the decoration is very comfortable and the equipment fully responded our needs for the stay. The area was perfect for us; not a lot of tourists, 15 min walk from the metro and with a lot of nice cafés and restaurants nearby. We would absolutely recommend the apartment to friends and family. This apt. in the Latin Quarter was wonderful. It heightened our Paris experience with its charm and location - one could not ask for more - we stayed a week. We were greeted by Tony, he was responsive to our needs and helpful in orientating us. The balcony is awesome, you have a roof-line view of the area and Pantheon. It is a walk up of 6 flights - but not really an issue. You are close to 2 Metro stations, a stone's throw from the Isle St. Louis/Notre Dame/Marais and a 10 min walk to Jardin Luxembourg. There are plenty of cafes and small grocers (open really late!) One suggestion upon arriving from CDG: take the RER - an easy hop on from the airport to St. Michel station. This brings you to (website hidden) Germain - take the 10 min walk and start (or end) your Parisian experience with the charm of The Blvd. This was pointed out by Tony when we left - it saves you a bunch of $$ on a taxi and you don't have to deal with Metro stairs on transferring. I would stay here again - longer. Merci Nadia et Tony! Greg/January 2015/LOS ANGELES-CALIFORNIA

5. Moscow, Mai 2017
